I love the US version of the show but have not seen the UK original yet. I plan on checking out at some point. The story is amazing and a lot of people can relate to it. The casting (for the US version) is perfect. A lot of young people I have never heard of but they do an amazing job and William H. Macy is a perfect Frank Gallagher. I have always been a Macy fan and even more so since this show started. I never liked Joan Cusack but she is awesome as the mom who is not quite all there. Emmy Rossum is a great actor and quite pleasant to look at as well. The guy that plays Kev (forgot his name) is awesome too.

I haven't seen the original either and just started watching the US reboot. I'm near the end of season 1 and really like it thus far.

Love the show. My favorite thing is the white ghetto social worker lady who speaks ebonics.

The only thing I don't like (about the US version) is the opening theme song.

I haven't seen the original yet either, but I am a huge fan of the US version. I think I'm about halfway into season 5 right now.

I could do without it as well but everything else about the show is fantastic. Perfect cast and the writing is awesome.

Macy is a bad ass! I have liked all his roles in the past, but this role was perfect for him and he is perfect for this role. In the Breaking Bad thread, someone mentioned that Cranston was the only one who could pull off playing Walter White, but I think Macy would have done a great job as well. But I am glad Cranston got the role. He did an amazing job. I'm sure there are a few others who could play a good Frank Gallagher, but I'm not so sure than anyone could play it as well as William H. Macy does.

Haha the social worker is a nice touch.

The UK show is really good but I like the US version much better. The next season will be starting in a couple of weeks.

This is the best show on TV right now.
